The Blue water International Sculpture Exhibit - SEe More

My sculptural work reflects a predisposition to drawing, mark making and can be seen both as a metaphor and symbolically: transforming  the “strength of steel” to what appears to be frail and organic, a statement to the fragility and inner strength of humanity.

“What day is it?” bringing to light the need to question, stop time, in some cases folding it to redirect ourselves.

“What Day is it?” is located in Port Huron, Michigan US, for the next two years as part the Blue Water International Exhibit, I am honoured to be part of this wonderful exhibition and plan on visiting often. The sculpture speaks on a sensory level with a direct correlation to the persona and the theoretical state of flux between the ego and shadow: good verse bad, the constant struggle that is human condition.

Now with a wonderful aged patina, created from one piece of steel, the casted shadows viewed in the light of day, merge, twist, and distort, with the passing of time, in constant flux,

T. "Unconditional Love" installed in the City of Sarnia, Ont., Canada

In watching my son grow I was so totally amazed at his ability to find everything within his grasp wondrous, how he would readily accept the outreached arms of strangers, and smile constantly at all that met his gaze.

“Unconditional Love” is a symbolic reminder that children see the world differently than adults do. A child enjoys a world of wonder, life is full of discovery, and their love is given unconditionally.  Through the eyes of a child we find a world of no prejudice, their is no question of beauty, or ugliness, there is only difference, and all is accepted openly and with joy, best seen through a child’s unconditional love for their parent(s).

It is my hope that “Unconditional Love” will in some way remind us to look past what is seen, to look differently and perhaps embrace life with a “childlike” acceptance, and have the courage as a child to live a life open to discovery and learning...they are great teachers if we only could “listen”.

Unconditional Love, standing 6 feet tall, is dedicated to the memory of Canadian sculptor Jean Horne who 15 years ago gave me a piece of steel to inspire and remind me to full fill my dreams.
