glass

Abstractions in glass, sometimes functional, but each piece is always a one of a kind.  Her process is multilayered, involving cutting and placing layers of glass pieces onto a glass sub-strait which are then all melted together to one layer in special kilns. When completely cooled, details are then painted on with crushed glass mixtures and the piece is then returned to the kiln, sometimes for multiple firings till the piece dictates it's completion or begs altering, either with the addition of slumping the glass to fit a mold, or applying low fired paints as a finishing touch. Jeanette's love of glass started as a young child when she use to visit the glass manufacturing company her Dad work at. The streaming molten liquid lava glass flowing from one floor through to another is a memory that is vivid in her mind today. See Wearable Art
